Scotland’s King of Swing was just one of Tommy Sampson’s accolades. Originally a cornetist with the Salvation Army he developed a talent for arranging and from 1947 his orchestra was the UK’s standard bearer.

We have a very rare show in this year’s Festival. The only UK date by “The Blind Boys of Alabama”. This iconic group has been singing gospel music for seven decades and amazingly is still fronted by Jimmy Carter, who has been there since the start in the 1940’s.
