Over the years, we’ve had some of the greatest Funk musicians alive playing in Edinburgh – Average White Band, Dr John, Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker, but we’ve never had anything close to the originals – until NOW.  Funk was born in New Orleans: melting pot of so many musics – and it was blues, jazz, gospel and a little bit of Haitian voodoo, that gave birth to The Meters, the originals! Art and Cyrille Neville were the front men, and their legacy is passed via The Neville Brothers to DUMPSTAPHUNK. Two Nevilles, Ivan and Ian, are at the helm, with most kickass funky rhythm section you could imagine. The first and only date in the UK is next Saturday night, July 15. “I Don’t expect to hear anything funkier this year” ( New York Times). We don’t think Edinburgh will have a funkier night – maybe ever!!  Put it In The Dumpsta! Check them out on YouTube
