First Time Friday - part 3 image

We're welcoming a lot of new acts to the Festival this year and as part of our First Time Friday feature, here's part three!

Stefano Bollani is a massive name in Italian jazz and the piano maestro will come to the Festival on 26 July at Festival Theatre Studio. Bollani has collaborated with musicians such as Chailly and the Leipzig Orchestra, Brad Meldau bassist Larry Grenadier, and the bandolim player Hamilton de Holanda.

Mexican band Troker are a powerhouse expolsion of a jazz band. They've played Glastonbury twice now and are debuting at Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival on 23 July at St Andrew Square Spiegeltent. Expect rock energy, hip hop and funk grooves and a flavour of Mariachi.

Young Australian band, Bearded Gypsy Band, play jazz, folk, world music and more and are coming to the Festival on 25 and 26 July at The Tron Kirk and St Andrew Square Spiegeltent.

They've played over 150 gigs round Europe and now the acclaimed Jazzpospolita from Poland will come to the Festival. Expect cutting edge music from the edge of jazz, where it collides with post rock and electronics at The Jazz Bar on 25 July.

Pocion de Fe concoct an original spicy mix of afrobeat, Caribbean rhythms, Cuban salsa, and African mambo. This wildly entertaining Scottish seven piece jazz band are playing 26 July at The Tron Kirk.

She's souful and seductive and Somi will bring her effortless essence of jazz and cool to the Festival on 21 July at The Tron Kirk. Somi draws on her African heritage, so expect a beautiful mix of musical cultures at this gig.
