Keeping things swinging at the Festival 04 Jun 2015

Keeping things swinging at the Festival image

Swing jazz is very well represented at this year's Festival, so if you're a fan there's lots to look forward to! Here are a few picks...

Where else to start than with Brian Kellock, Edinburgh's very own piano master? Brian is internationally recognised for his brilliance at the keys and this year will be playing at two concerts, one with Warren Vaché, and another with his dream swingtet (also featuring Vaché, plus Scott Hamilton, Jacob Fischer and others).

Then there's stylish trumpet star Enrico Tomasso who, as a child, was a regular at Louis Armstrong's concerts and even hung out with the legend himself afterwards!

Leading light in the revival of swinging jazz, John Burgess brings his new Big Five band to town to deliver his classic 50s sound, with John'

s wonderful sax and clarinet skills front and centre.

And dont miss the chance to catch the aforementioned Scott Hamilton, with guest guitarist Jacob Fischer, showing just why he's revered by fans of jazz saxophone.

This is just a selection of some of the great swing jazz on offer this July - have a look through the full programme to discover even more!
